Answers to common questions.

  • Common symptoms of a malfunctioning speedometer/instrument cluster are faulty/sticking/inaccurate stepper motors, total power loss, dim gear indicator (PRND321) display, and dim or dead backlighting.

  • Your speedometer mileage will not change.

  • No programming is needed.

  • Your vehicle is operable without a speedometer.

  • If your oil pressure gauge is "pegged" it is probably not the gauge. Check your oil pressure sensor first.

  • Fuel gauge malfunction can also be caused by a bad fuel sending unit or wiring.

We highly recommend not trying to repair it yourself before sending us your part. Incorrect soldering techniques can cause damages that increase the cost of repair and possibly damage your part beyond repair.

We have a 99% success rate, although there occassionally is a cluster that has a failed CPU and is not repairable. In this case, we may have another core that can be cloned to replace your faulty part. This will come with an additional core charge and you will be notified before we go this route.
